Crocodopolis offers regular news coverage of crocodilian and related subjects from the general worldwide media, as well as original news stories by Crocodopolis staff and contributors, as a free educational service to readers.
The coverage is offered in the form of brief summaries of each story, usually followed by a hyperlink(s), to the publisher(s) of the story summarized. These original stories are the copyrighted property of the original publishers, and it is the intent of Crocodopolis to encourage readership of a story at its original publisher's' respective publication URL(s) on the Internet. It is not the intent of this website's publisher to replace, or discourage visitation by its readers to, these aforementioned URLs.
Press items may be posted out of chronological order, depending on when they are identified and actually published at Crocodopolis.
NON-ENDORSEMENT
The publication of a news/feature/press item does not necessarily indicate endorsement by Crocodopolis of the subject entity or its practices.
HYPERLINKS

Crocodopolis does not publish accompanying photographs or video from a story without the explicit permission of the original publisher/copyright holder, with the exception of publicly-available publicity photographs.
CLARIFICATION
The headlines posted are usually those of the original press item, and an original headline may be altered for clarity; with the subsequent summaries being a combination of quotes, paraphrasing or directly related comments. The editors will add, as best as they are able, clarifications within the summaries on the specific crocodilian species involved, geographic locations and measurement/currency conversions.
The editors attempt to cater to the requirement's of the site's international readership by offering the headline of a press item in it's original language, followed by a short summary in English. Any misinterpretations of the original story within the summary should be attributed only to the lack of knowledge of the original language by the editors and should not be taken as an 'editorial comment' unless distinctly included in italics.
SPECIES REFERENCES
Additionally, when a news item refers to a specific crocodilian species, the full scientific name of such is published in parentheses for reference (i.e. Philippine Crocodile = Crocodylus mindorensis).

Some items may feature, or refer to Internet links that feature, graphic images (photograph or video). Readers will be warned of such graphic images on the news page. A user's following of the links to, and viewing of these images confirms to the Owner of this website that such reader is of adult age in the nation in which he/she dwells and is legally permitted to view such material. READER RESPONSE
Comments and advice from readers about items in their maternal language are solicited and appreciated. Geographic references will be included with each summary, and measurements and currencies will converted as best as the editors are able.
