24 October 07 Alligators 'chases' Fla. woman While she checks mailbox
Bradenton, Florida - Neighbors in the Summerfield Crest section of Lakewood Ranch enjoy the peaceful ponds here, but they're terrified of the creature that's been lurking in their yards and their streets.
Karen Sherrard says an eight-foot/2.4 meter - long alligator attacked her early Saturday morning when she checked her mail.
"I took off out of instinct and it ran after me. It came on the sidewalk and ran down two houses," said Sherrard. (The description of the alligator's "chasing" behavior seems suspicious. -I.D.) http://www.tampabays10.com/news/local/article.aspx?storyid=66092
