An alligator in traffic.

^ ALEXANDRIA C. - Haines City, Florida.

Young Alexandria was quick to the draw in whipping out her cell phone to photograph this 'gator ever so nonchalantly crossing the traffic at the entrance to Champion's Gate in Davenport, Florida on May 31. Kudos to the Osceola Sheriff deputies who halted traffic in courtesy to the reptile!

^ RIK TENAGLIA - Wannee, Florida.

Rik, a lifelong nature lover, says he's "blessed to be able to possess a spot on one of the most beautiful rivers in the country." The two images above were taken in the Wannee area of the famous Suwannee River. Rik says the alligators here are difficult to approach without them disappearing into the depths; of course, that's a natural behavior for wild alligators and a good thing as far as safety is concerned.

American Alligator, by Barbara N.

^   BARBARA N. - Poinciana, Florida.

Barbara captured this image of a 'gator from her backyard in Central Florida. A real lover of nature, Barb says she leaves the animal alone, and has had no issues with it.

An alligator at Lake Alice, Gainesville, Florida.

^   LARA R. - Gainesville, Florida.

Lara took this photo in her city at Lake Alice. This image clearly illustrates the alligator's submarine-like ability to use stealth in being barely visible at the water's surface.
