^ PEGGY R. - Homeland, Florida
Peggy zoomed the camera lens to get
this image at Circle B nature preserve in Polk County, Florida,
which seems to be a very popular gator-watching site! This
alligator appears to be about 8.5 feet in length.

NORM B. - Winter Haven, Florida.
Norm, an experienced birdwatcher and
nature photographer, snapped this pic at the Circle B Br Reserve
in Polk County, Florida in January, 2011.

^ REBECCA. J. - Lakeland, Florida.
Rebecca snapped this pic of a
subadult alligator in Celebration, Florida, near Orlando in
February, 2011.

NORM B. - Winter Haven, Florida.
Norm, an experienced birdwatcher and
nature photographer, snapped this pic at the Circle B Br Reserve
in Polk County, Florida in October, 2010.

^
KELLY - Polk County, Florida.
You've read
about this all over the Living Among Alligators site:
Alligators and humans co-habitating neighborhoods. Kelly snapped
the first pic of a juvenile gator in a waterhole in her
backyard. The second was taken just after authorities captured
it.

^
ED MASON, - Lakeland, Florida.
Ed snapped this picture at Chehaw
Wild animal Park in Albany, Georgia in August, 2010. Note the
heavy algae cover, the result of a high level of phosphate in
the water. The algae is not harmful to the alligator, but does
severely limit the quality of the water for fish and other
aquatic life, since the sunlight cannot get though.

^ ALEXANDRIA C. - Haines
City, Florida.
Young Alexandria was quick to the draw in whipping out
her cell phone to photograph this 'gator ever so nonchalantly
crossing the traffic at the entrance to Champion's Gate in
Davenport, Florida on May 31, 2010. Kudos to the Osceola Sheriff
deputies who halted traffic in courtesy to the reptile!

^ RIK
TENAGLIA - Wannee, Florida.
Rik, a lifelong nature lover, says he's "blessed to be able to
possess a spot on one of the most beautiful rivers in the country." The
two images above were taken in the Wannee area of the famous Suwannee
River in Winter 2009-2010. Rik says the alligators here are difficult to approach without
them disappearing into the depths; of course, that's a natural behavior
for wild alligators and a good thing as far as safety is concerned.

^
BARBARA N. - Poinciana, Florida.
Barbara captured this image of a 'gator from her
backyard in Central Florida in January 31, 2008. A real lover of nature, Barb says she
leaves the animal alone, and has had no issues with it.

^
LARA R. - Gainesville, Florida.
Lara took this photo in her city at Lake
Alice in late summer 2007. This image clearly illustrates the alligator's submarine-like
ability to use stealth in being barely visible at the water's surface.

Send us your alligator photograph,* whether you've
taken it in the wild or at a zoo or wildlife park (no pics of "pet"
alligators please), and we'll publish it
on the Living Among Alligators website. If you haven't taken the
picture yet but plan to, PLEASE BE VERY CAREFUL AND DO NOT APPROACH THE
ALLIGATOR -- use the zoom feature on your camera, so you can snap a pic at a safe distance. Along with your image, please send the full name
of the photographer as it should be published, the location of the spot
where the photo was taken, and the home city or town of the photographer
(see the entries above for reference).
