Simmers-Young Park

Scales and Tails Pet Festival

Winter Haven, Fla.

 

FREE ADMISSION.

Join Israel for a day of FREE animal-themed entertainment and activities at the Scales & Tails Pet Festival at Simmers-Young Park in Winter Haven, presented by Polk County Parks & Recreation.

 

Yes, you've read here that alligators are not "pets," but what better way learn more about them than with many others who love animals and nature!

 

Israel will be on hand with live alligators as usual, featuring "Buster," "Brooklyn" and "Simon" for meet-n-greets, where you can have an up close encounter with the gators and take photos- all for free. Israel will present a Living Among Alligators safety program from the event stage at 10:40 am and 1:15 pm.

 

In addition to pet events and contests, there'll be a kids area with bounce houses and games and food vendors. The event starts at 10 am and the fun continues through 2 pm. Simmers-Young Park is located at 5630 County Road 542 in west Winter Haven, behind the Auburndale Speedway. Meet Israel and the alligators for a live interactive experience and have your questions ready for his alligator awareness workshop beginning at 1 pm, where he'll talk with you about 'gator safety and appreciation.

 

Enjoy free workshops, events and displays by Cypress Gardens, Historic Bok Sanctuary, Audubon, Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission, Florida-Friendly Yards, Florida Geocaching, Hurricane Preparedness and more. For hungry travelers, food will be available on site for a fee.

 

Come inside the air-conditioned Outpost and experience the colorful, dynamic displays of the county's natural, historic and cultural treasures.

 

The fun starts at 10 am and continues till 4 pm, so there's plenty of time to see it all.

University of Florida - Ben Hill Griffin Stadium

Gainesville, Fla.

NOTICE: Our participation in this event was canceled due to the cold temperatures. The chilly condition - a high of 55° F - was just too low for the alligators to be in the outdoors for our program.

Come see Israel and his live alligators at the game, where the Florida Gators taken on The Citadel Bulldogs! Israel will be partnering with Fanfoto photographic services all day, from 9am -1pm at the O'Connell Center GatorZone tent near the Gate 2 entrance to the center (FREE ADMISSION AT THE TENT), then inside the stadium near the entrance from 1:30 till after the game (game ticket required to enter the stadium).

July 19 & 20, 2008

Orange County Convention Center

Nigel Marven and a rare albino alligator.Join Israel at the 2008 Florida International Reptile Expo at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. Israel will be telecasting live as co-host for a new Internet television channel with Animal Planet star NIGEL MARVEN and also raising funds for alligator and crocodile conservation.

Nigel (pictured at left with an albino alligator) is chief spokesperson, with Israel as host, of an international reptile and amphibian international educational awareness campaign.

Also, don't miss your opportunity to meet NIGEL, (also the star of Prehistoric Park) and pose for a photo with him and a rare Chinese Alligator, together-- for a $10 donation to alligator and crocodile conservation. Visitors will also get to meet croc expert Terry Cullen, founder of the Cullen Vivarium Wildlife Conservancy.
