In the interests of ethics and the public trust, please accept this message as a disclosure of the business and financial practices of this website and its publisher.
The website was published on September 24, 2006, by myself, as a writer, naturalist and crocodilian specialist. This site is the property of a for-profit business named The Bridgeworth Company, a Florida corporation d/b/a Crocodopolis (hereafter referred to as "Crocodopolis").
This website was created primarily to offer a central, concentrated forum for professionals and enthusiasts, as well as the general public, with regard to the general subject of crocodilians, and peripheral subjects that may follow.
The staff of this website are made up of unpaid contributors, whose primary aim in working on this website is to share a passion for crocodilians and their conservation. Contributors retain copyright to their intellectual works (see the Copyright Notice) but are not necessarily compensated for them.
Crocodopolis is not tax-exempt or licensed by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service as a 501(c)3 designated entity or as a lawfully recognized non-profit organization.
ADVERTISING Some of the display advertisements on the website are those of certain non-profit entities, and are published at no charge to the non-profit entity. Such an advertisement is usually published with a message below it that indicates that it is a "non-profit advertisement." Other display advertisements are for commercial sites associated with this site (see Revenue, below).
The International Directory, Bibliography, Filmography, Websources, and book preview sections of this website are furnished as a service to the reader, and are not necessarily advertisements or endorsements, and no fees are paid to the publisher for these listings unless an obvious Internet retail ("e-tail") feature exists for a given entry.
REVENUE The 'shop' and other e-tail programs on this website are intended to generate revenue to cover the costs of this website's publication and activities. My expectation of this arrangement is that the amount of expected revenue is relatively low. This understanding is based on testimony from other nature/conservation website publishers. It is hoped that revenue from e-tail efforts adopted for this website will be enough to cover expenses related to the website. Crocodopolis will be responsible to personally pay all applicable taxes on revenue.
